Warehouse Anthems is a 3CD retrospective compilation of the classic ‘rave era’ from 1989-1994, when warehouse and outdoor events fuelled an alternative dance culture for a new generation of party goers. The album features a host of UK Top 10 selling artists including The Prodigy, SL2, Altern8, Kicks Like A Mule, Baby D and Opus III – along with equally influential acts from the period such as LFO, The Future Sound of London, Awesome 3, Ragga Twins, Jonny L, Nightmares On Wax, Humanoid, 2 Bad Mice – and many more.

Old skool, breakbeat, hardcore and rave were the by-words of a sprawling scene that stretched to all corners of the UK – from Bournemouth to Inverness – through festivals, clubs, fanzines and pirate radio stations. The political fall-out ultimately led to the notorious ‘Repetitive Beats’ Criminal Justice & Public Order Act of 1994, outlawing any gathering of more than 20 people, which served only in distancing the in-power Conservative government and accelerating one of the most striking and powerful youth movements of a generation.

Warehouse Anthems serves not only as a powerful reminder of a musical and cultural legacy, but one that defines and evolves, within contemporary electronic music.

The album includes a foreward by Mark Archer, one half of the enormously successful and influential rave-duo, Altern 8.
